About Us

Kala Vistaar is dedicated to strengthening the craft traditions of Palghar’s tribal communities. We work to preserve living heritage while creating dignified livelihoods for artisans through training, cooperative support, cultural tourism, and better access to policy and schemes.

Our vision is a future where every artisan’s knowledge is valued, protected, and celebrated — where craft is not only an expression of culture but also a pathway to economic inclusion, ecological balance, and community pride. By weaving heritage, policy, and opportunity together, Kala Vistaar seeks to shape a sustainable model of growth for generations to come.

Why It Matters

Craft as Identity and Challenge

Craft in Palghar is more than art — it is identity, history, and livelihood. For the Warli, Katkari, and allied communities, traditional skills hold ecological wisdom and cultural memory, yet artisans often face challenges like limited market access, lack of documentation, and gaps in financial inclusion.

Building Pathways for Dignity and Growth

By supporting craft, we safeguard stories, strengthen communities, and create pathways for dignity and sustainable growth. Kala Vistaar bridges heritage with opportunity, ensuring these traditions are not lost but continue to evolve for the future.
